Golden stems and large seed heads that provide colour and texture to plantings. This grass is one of the first to form seeds each season and they are striking clusters of bronze.

Savannah Grass can be aggressive, spreading by rhizomes, so not suited for small spaces. Different species of insects will feed on the blades of this grass and they become important food sources for game birds and song birds. This grass also provides ideal nesting habitat for birds. This grass is one of the host plants of the Pepper and Salt Skipper and the Ottoe Skipper.

For larger stands, sow at a density of 4-5 KG/acre.
