These seeds are from an old heirloom turnip dating back to 1885. These turnips are uniform smooth white globes with bright purple tops and creamy white in the portion below the soil line. They are best for eating when 3-4" in diameter but remain in good condition until quite large. They produce sweet, mild, fine-grained white flesh and large tops that make delicious greens. They store very well and are an excellent source of vitamin C!

Growing Instructions

Sow seeds outdoors as soon as soil can be prepared in spring. Plant seeds ¼ - ½“ in depth and 2” apart in rows 24” apart. Plant every 2 weeks for continuous harvest. Quality and flavor are best if harvested when weather is cool.
