(C. maxima) (aka Bright Red Etampes, Cinderella) Beautiful French pumpkin introduced in the United States by W. Atlee Burpee in 1883; documented by Vilmorin the same year. Very flattened red-orange fruit with wide ribs, weighs up to 20 pounds. Favored by French chefs for rich soup stock.

Growing Instructions

Direct seed: 1' deep. Sow seeds outdoors in 12" diameter hills, with 6-8 seeds per hill, after danger of frost has passed. Hills should be spaced 6' apart in all directions. Thin to 3-4 plants per hill.

Transplant (recommended for shorter growing seasons i.e. Zones 3-4): Start indoors 3-4 weeks before transplanting out.  Harden off.  Transplant 16-18" in row, 16-24" between rows.
