Looseleaf, cut- and-come-again harvests. Introduced in the mid 1940s by the USDA’s Agricultural Research Center in Beltsville, MD. This lettuce variety produces large thick clusters of light green frilled leaves. These leaves have a pleasing flavor and are never bitter. As its name suggests, this variety is very slow to bolt.
Growing Instructions
Sow direct seed 1” apart and ¼” in depth. Germination period is 7-14 days. Sow continuously for a constant supply of lettuce. Best grown in cooler weather. Plant in full sun or partial shade.
