Leaves grow to 3 inches wide by 18 inches long
Approx. 150 seeds per pack
This Italian kale variety reportedly dates back to the 18th century. Deep blue savoyed leaves grow to 3 inches wide by 18 inches long and are best eaten when leaves are 8-10 inches long. They provide an excellent flavor that is enhanced by frost and are best eaten when the leaves are small and tender. This is a great addition to salads, smoothies, and greens, as they taste great and contain fiber, antioxidants, calcium and many vitamins and minerals!
Start indoors 4-6 weeks before the last frost. Sow the seeds ¼” deep. Plant out just before the last frost 24” apart in full sun. Germination period is 3-10 days. Kale is most tender and delicious after a frost and harvest can continue even after snow.
