Leaves grow 5.5 to 8.5 inches wide by 15 to 18 inches long
Approx. 150 seeds per pack
This variety hails from the Greenpeace Experimental Farm in British Columbia. This plant produces green, slightly blistered leaves that have lobed margins and purple petioles and measure 15.5-18.5" long and 5.5-8.5" wide. It is super nutritious, and offers crunchy, crisp leaves with a sweet flavor (that is enhanced by frost) with only a hint of bitterness.
Start indoors 4-6 weeks before the last frost. Sow the seeds ¼” deep. Plant out just before the last frost 24” apart in full sun. Germination period is 3-10 days. Kale is most tender and delicious after a frost and harvest can continue even after snow.
