This light purple variety grows 12-18” long and about 1” in diameter. Originating from Pingtung, Taiwan, this vegetable matures earlier than most and is a perfect choice to use in an appetizer or side dish. The 2-4' tall plant produces very well, even in very hot weather. Hardy, vigorous, and disease resistant.
Start seeds indoors at ¼“ depth 8 weeks before the last frost. Transplant outdoors once danger of frost has passed and soil is warm, in-row and between row at 18-24” apart in full sun. Using landscape fabric or black plastic can accelerate growth and productivity in cooler climates. Eggplant requires consistent moisture.
