Vines can grow 5-6 feet
Approx. 25 seeds per pack
This dark-green, thin skinned and sweet fleshed variety can grow up to 18” long! This is a very traditional ribbed variety from China. The 5’ vines are very productive and should be trellised if you prefer a straighter fruit. The crunchy skin and sweet taste make this a great variety for eating fresh. It is also heat tolerant, disease resistant and reported to be burpless (means the cucumbers contain little to no cucurbitacin, the compound that causes bitterness and can cause indigestion).
Direct seed: Sow seeds outdoors at 1" depth, in 12" diameter hills after the last frost when soil is warm. Space hills 6' apart in all directions. 3-4 plants per hill.
Transplant (recommended for shorter growing seasons): Start indoors 3-4 weeks before the last frost for an earlier harvest. Harden off. Transplant in rows 16-18" apart, 18-24" between rows, or use hilling method above.
Performs especially well in hot climates and benefits from consistent moisture. Provide support for vines to save space.
