Vines can grow 5-8 feet
Approx. 25 seeds per pack
Also known as Khira Balam, this variety originated from India. Reminiscent of a potato, this unique cucumber is stout with russetted brown skin. These oval-shaped fruits grow to around 3”. They grow heavily on robust semi-bush plants. Delicious lemon flavor. The plant is a good producer and fruits stay crisp in storage.
Direct seed: Sow seeds outdoors at 1" depth, in 12" diameter hills after the last frost when soil is warm. Space hills 6' apart in all directions. 3-4 plants per hill.
Transplant (recommended for shorter growing seasons): Start indoors 3-4 weeks before the last frost for an earlier harvest. Harden off. Transplant in rows 16-18" apart, 18-24" between rows, or use hilling method above.
Performs especially well in hot climates and benefits from consistent moisture. Provide support for vines to save space.
