Brenda Blanchard - Admin. and Customer Service Guru

Brenda is that friendly voice on the other end of an email or phone call to Northern Wildflowers. Brenda is responsible for customer service, order fulfillment, inventory management, and bookkeeping. Brenda is originally from rural Saskatchewan and enjoys golfing, acting, spending time with family, and upcycling furniture and fixtures.

Amy Bouillon - Marketing and Communications Specialist

Amy has lent her skillset to Northern Wildflowers since the company's inception. Amy holds diplomas in Animation from Collège Boréal and Advertising from Georgian College. Her background includes diverse industries such as mining, cosmetics, customer service, and government. Amy is responsible for our retail program, marketing, advertising, and graphic design. Amy was recognized for her hard work and dedication to her community in 2011 as a recipient of the Northern Ontario Business 40 Under Forty awards. Amy is a dedicated mother, and avid fisherwoman, who loves hiking, cross-country skiing, traveling, sewing, spending time with the ones she loves, and being in nature.

Jenny Fortier - Founder and CEO

Jenny is a biologist with a B.Sc. from Laurentian University, a M.Sc. from Trent University, is a master gardener (MG), and holds a diploma in Sustainable Landscape Design. Jenny founded Northern Wildflowers in 2012 and operated the business as a side hustle for the first ten years while pursuing a career that dabbled in science communication, business development, project management, and economic development. Jenny is passionate about habitat restoration and supporting and encouraging more farming in Canada. Jenny enjoys spending time outdoors with her family, traveling, cooking, running, and mountain biking.

Ayla Frank - Farm and Seed Technician

Dynamic, energetic, and passionate are three excellent words to describe Ayla. Ayla is our guru for technical tasks on the farm, in the field, and in the seed lab. You may also enjoy many of Ayla's recipes, gardening tips, and wild collection tricks on our social media feed and blog. Ayla holds a B.Sc. from Laurentian University, with a specialization in restoration biology. Ayla has experience in land reclamation, environmental monitoring, and carpentry. Yielding from Labrador City, Ayla is a skilled athlete, passionate gardener, DIY-er and who loves to cook and forage wild foods.

Joëlle Huot - 2023 Summer Student

Joëlle joined our team in the spring of 2023 to complete her summer Co-op placement. Joëlle supports farm duties, wild seed collections, landscaping contracts, and office tasks. Joëlle is originally from Whitefish and a graduate of Cambrian College's Environmental Technician program. Joëlle is passionate about fitness, nutrition, and the outdoors.
